The Godfather - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack presents Nino Rota's legendary score to Francis Ford Coppola's Academy Award-winning 1972 masterpiece in a remastered and expanded limited edition 2LP set from La-La Land Records, Paramount Pictures and Geffen Records.

Starring Marlon Brando, Al Pacino and Diane Keaton and directed by Francis Ford Coppola, The Godfather became one of the defining films of American cinema. Rota's music is equally inseparable from the film, providing an emotional musical identity for the Corleone family and their world of loyalty, power, violence and tragedy.

Deeply soulful, romantic and melancholy, Rota's score moves effortlessly between intimacy and menace. Its famous waltz and love theme have become two of the most instantly recognisable pieces of film music ever written, extending far beyond the film itself to become an enduring part of popular culture.

This deluxe edition marks the first vinyl release of the remastered and expanded presentation of Rota's score. Alongside the film's score presentation, the 2LP programme features additional and alternate cues, extended and film versions, plus two tracks by Carmine Coppola, offering a more extensive exploration of the music created for the film.

Produced by Dan Goldwasser and Neil S. Bulk, the recordings were mixed by Chris Malone and mastered by Doug Schwartz from studio vault elements, with the score presentation mastered in high resolution. The release has been approved by Francis Ford Coppola and American Zoetrope.

The package also includes a booklet featuring liner notes by writer Tim Greiving, with album art design by Dan Goldwasser. The two 180 gram records are presented on striking "Tuxedo Black and White" split vinyl, with the edition limited to just 750 copies.
