It’s a tough call which is the bigger cult classic — the Tank Girl film or its accompanying soundtrack - but on balance, the soundtrack just edges it.

The film features a cast packed with colourful characters and iconic actors including Iggy Pop, Ann Magnuson, Malcolm McDowell, Ice-T and Lori Petty, set against a dystopian, resource-starved desert world. Its intense action and rebellious lead make it a feminist - and far funnier - precursor to Mad Max: Fury Road.

The soundtrack is where it really shines. Assembled by Courtney Love, it features a who’s who of ’90s alternative rock including Hole, Björk, L7, Veruca Salt and Belly.

It also includes exclusive tracks such as a unique version of Girl U Want by Devo, Mockingbird Girl by The Magnificent Bastards (featuring Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots), and a standout duet of Let’s Do It by Joan Jett and Paul Westerberg.

In short, if there was ever a soundtrack that deserved to be on vinyl, this is it.
