Assembled from the first two films in the iconic Lone Wolf and Cub series, Shogun Assassin introduced international audiences to the brutal story of wandering executioner Ogami Ittō and his young son Daigorō as they carve a bloody path of revenge across feudal Japan.

Recorded at Mark Lindsay’s Wonderland Avenue studio in Los Angeles, the soundtrack combines atmospheric electronics, progressive rock influences, eerie synth textures, and dramatic orchestral passages to create one of the most distinctive cult film scores of the era.

This edition from BSX Records marks the soundtrack’s first official release on compact disc, newly mastered by James Nelson at Digital Outland and featuring liner notes by soundtrack historian Randall D. Larson.
