Pure Reason Revolution return with Terrifying Angels, a darker and heavier album that combines crushing riffs, ominous atmospheres and grunge influences with the band's signature vocal harmonies.

Following the reflective Coming Up to Consciousness, the band takes a grittier, more aggressive approach. The album's central concept draws on the traditional depiction of angels as overwhelming and sometimes terrifying beings, rather than comforting figures.

“My initial thought of an angel was the cute kind of cherub, but traditionally angels aren't comforting figures,” explains Jon Courtney. “They're often overwhelming, terrifying beings.”

Collaboration plays a significant role in the album's creation, with founding member Greg Jong, Paul Mullen (Losers, Yourcodenameis:milo) and Kenny Fitzgerald contributing alongside Courtney. Vocalist Annicke Shireen and drummer Ravi Kesavaram deliver powerful performances, while Mariusz Duda (Lunatic Soul) and Kristoffer Gildenlöw make guest bass appearances.

Across seven tracks, Terrifying Angels explores love, memory, truth and identity through the contrasting ideas of salvation and destruction. As Courtney explains, “The forces that save us are often the same forces that undo us.”

Mixed by Bruce Soord of The Pineapple Thief, the album is presented on transparent red vinyl in a gatefold sleeve.

Vinyl orders are packed using strong cruciform record mailers with stiffeners and bubble wrap to minimise movement during transit. Parcels are clearly marked with fragile handling labels to help ensure safe delivery.

Orders containing multiple vinyl records receive additional protection, including expandable plastic corner protectors where appropriate.

Box sets receive additional reinforcement and protective padding appropriate to their size and weight.

CDs and cassettes are securely padded to prevent movement during transit.

Merchandise such as t-shirts is packaged appropriately to protect the item during shipping.

Orders are usually packed and dispatched the same day or next working day.

UK orders are shipped using Royal Mail Tracked services, and a dispatch confirmation with tracking details will be provided once your order is on the way.

International shipping is available to selected countries, with rates calculated at checkout.

We accept returns for damaged or defective items.

If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 14 days and provide photos of the packaging and item so we can assist.

Sealed records that are found to be warped or defective after opening can also be returned.

Due to the nature of vinyl records, coloured vinyl, picture discs and speciality pressings may have occasional surface noise.
