Kvasir - 4 LP Vinyl

KVASIR - 4 delivers a powerful blend of heavy progressive rock, psychedelic grooves and stoner-doom riffing, combining vintage influences with a distinctive modern edge.

Hailing from North Portland, Oregon, KVASIR formed in 2017 around founding members Christopher Lee and Greg Traw. The band's current lineup also features drummer Jay Erbe (SkullDozer) and guitarist Max Siegfried (Greenseeker), bringing together a wealth of musical influences that stretch from classic heavy rock and the New Wave of British Heavy Metal to psychedelia, progressive rock and funk.

On 4, KVASIR channel these influences into a collection of heavy, groove-driven compositions built around muscular guitar riffs, shifting rhythms and expansive psychedelic arrangements. Their sound combines the raw energy of traditional heavy metal with the adventurous spirit of progressive rock, creating music that is both powerful and richly textured.

Drawing comparisons to bands such as Danava, Kadavar, Green Lung and The Sword, KVASIR balance crushing heaviness with melodic passages and an unmistakable sense of groove. Their approach embraces the warmth of vintage hard rock while exploring the darker, more atmospheric territory of contemporary stoner and doom metal.

The album also reflects themes of uncertainty, identity and perseverance, pairing its heavy psychedelic sound with a sense of searching and self-reflection. Across eight tracks, the band move between driving riffs, hypnotic rhythms and progressive musical ideas, demonstrating their ability to blend different styles into a cohesive sound.

Released on random colour vinyl and limited to just 300 copies, this pressing offers an opportunity to discover KVASIR's distinctive take on heavy progressive psychedelia.
