Goldfinger - Music From The Motion Picture (60th Anniversary Edition) CD

Goldfinger - Original Motion Picture Score celebrates the 60th anniversary of the classic 1964 James Bond film with a newly remastered and re-sequenced presentation of John Barry's iconic score.

Starring Sean Connery in his third appearance as James Bond and directed by Guy Hamilton, Goldfinger became one of the defining films of the 007 series. Its combination of international intrigue, larger-than-life villains, memorable set pieces and unmistakable style helped establish a formula that would influence Bond films for decades to come.

Central to that identity is John Barry's bold orchestral score. Dramatic, romantic, suspenseful and exhilarating, the music helped define the sound of James Bond, combining sweeping orchestration with the brassy power and excitement that became synonymous with 007.

The soundtrack also features the legendary title song "Goldfinger", performed by Shirley Bassey. One of the most recognisable Bond themes ever recorded, Bassey's commanding vocal performance and Barry's dramatic arrangement created a musical opening every bit as memorable as the film itself.

For this special 60th anniversary edition, the original album material has been remastered and, for the first time, re-sequenced into film order. Additional material includes an instrumental version of "Goldfinger", a performance by Anthony Newley and a mono version featuring a different vocal performance by Shirley Bassey.

Produced by Neil S. Bulk, restored by Chris Malone and mastered by Doug Schwartz, the CD also features new and exclusive liner notes by journalist and author Jon Burlingame, with art design by Dan Goldwasser.
