Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives - Original Motion Picture Score presents Harry Manfredini's score to the classic 1986 Paramount Pictures horror sequel, continuing the unmistakable musical identity he created for the Friday the 13th series.
For Jason Lives, Manfredini returned to his familiar Friday the 13th musical world but with the largest orchestra the franchise had used up to that point. The expanded forces give the score a bigger and richer sound while retaining the musical motifs and suspenseful atmosphere that had become synonymous with Jason Voorhees and Crystal Lake.
The larger orchestral palette allows Manfredini to bring additional weight and energy to the film's horror and action sequences, while still delivering the tension, sudden musical attacks and familiar thematic ideas established throughout the earlier entries in the series.
The result is a score firmly rooted in the classic Friday the 13th sound but presented on a broader scale, adding an extra punch to the franchise's established musical identity and creating another distinctive entry in Manfredini's long association with the series.
Produced by Harry Manfredini, Neil S. Bulk and MV Gerhard and mastered by James Nelson, this La-La Land Records CD release also features liner notes by writer Brian Satterwhite, with art design by Dan Goldwasser.
