Once Upon the Cross is the 1995 album from death metal legends Deicide. From the cover art to the lyrics, the band left no doubt about their uncompromising anti-church stance.

The album famously includes samples from The Last Temptation of Christ, a film that itself drew widespread controversy and accusations of blasphemy.
